About this campaign
Meet Rune, a 2-year-old pit bull terrier mix rescued from the Newark shelter by Peace4Paws. At 60 pounds, Rune may be a big boy, but underneath is a gentle, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to feel safe and stay close to his people.
Rune can be timid in unfamiliar situations, but once he settles in, he transforms into a happy-go-lucky love bug. He loves cuddles, exploring, and, most of all, treats! He’s house trained, knows basic commands, walks well on leash, and is eager to learn, especially when snacks are involved.
Right now, however, Rune needs more than training and patience. He is struggling with an unexplained balance issue that his veterinarian believes may be vestibular or neurological. At times, Rune loses his footing and falls, especially when running or navigating stairs. His foster family has baby-gated stairways, covered sharp furniture corners, and uses a harness to help him safely downstairs.
Rune is currently completing a course of prednisone, which has brought some improvement, but his symptoms have not fully resolved. If they continue, he will likely need to see a veterinary neurologist for further testing and answers—and that specialized care comes at a significant cost.
Peace4Paws is committed to giving Rune every opportunity to thrive and eventually find the patient, loving home he deserves. But they need help covering the next steps in his medical care.
Rune keeps getting back up every time he falls. Please consider donating to help Peace4Paws get this sweet boy the answers, care, and future he deserves.
