About this campaign
This is Sassy. She was my Mom's dog. My mom took her everywhere and introduced her to many neighbors and friends making Sassy very social. Unfortunately, my Mom passed away after only having Sassy a little over a year. My mother told me that if anything happened to her I was getting Sassy, so she naturally Sassy became my emotional support dog, helping me cope with the loss of my mom. She brightens my day. She is very playful and loves everyone especially all the children in the neighborhood and my grandkids
9 months ago Sassy passed puddles of blood, I was so scared I thought I was going to lose her. Turns out she has bladder stones. We changed her diet to prescription food only and hoped with this special diet the stones would pass. Every ultrasound showed no change. We were referred to mission hospital for surgery as Sassy has started to bleed again and stones are closing in. We are in fear that she will be obstructed which would put her life in jeopardy.
As I said in the beginning sassy is very special to me as she was my Mom's dog. Sassy is part of our family
I have limited income being on social security. My daughter applied for care credit on my behave but we have reached our cap, even while making payments as sassy has needed care for nearly a year. My daughter's also help me to pay for her special food we order once a month through Chewy. The hospital has said that with surgery there is a 90% cure rate as long as sassy stay on her special diet through Purina pro plan for urinary health. We just need to get past this big hurdle.
