Help Smokey get Surgery — Escondido, CA

Smokey is an 18-month-old Mastiff mix and my parent’s beloved gentle giant. They rescued him, but in so many ways, he rescued them too. He is their constant companion, their source of comfort, and a huge part of their happiness.

We recently learned that Smokey was born with severe orthopedic abnormalities. He desperately needs both hip replacements, reconstruction of both knees, and ligament repairs just to have a chance at living a comfortable, pain-free life.

Smokey provides emotional support, companionship, & happiness in ways that are difficult to put into words.

Smokey gives my parents reason to get up, move around, spend time outside, & stay engaged.

Overall, Smokey became an important source of emotional support, happiness, motivation, & companionship. Smokey’s presence is a meaningful & positive effect in their daily life & well being.

The estimated cost of his surgeries and treatment is nearly $50,000, the cost consists of both hip replacements, reconstruction of both knees, and ligament repairs and our family simply cannot manage that alone.
