About this campaign
I adopted Sophia from a shelter two years ago. From the moment I brought her home, she became an irreplaceable part of my family. I committed to giving her the safe, loving life she deserves, and she has brought so much joy into my home. Now that she's facing this unexpected medical challenge, I'm doing everything I can to step up for her the way she's always been there for me.
Recently, Sophia suffered a tear to her Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL)—the dog equivalent of a human ACL tear. Because of the tear, her knee bones are constantly shifting painfully whenever she tries to stand or walk.
Unfortunately, a CCL tear cannot heal on its own with rest alone. Without surgical correction, she will remain in severe pain, experience progressive joint damage, and lose the ability to use her back leg.
Her veterinarian has recommended surgery to stabilize her knee joint and restore full, pain-free mobility. The total estimated cost for her surgery, anesthesia, pain management, and follow-up rehab care is $3,500.
She is my daily shadow and my comfort. Whether we’re starting our morning routine or relaxing in the evening, her presence brings me joy every single day.
Asking for financial help is not easy for me. As someone living on a fixed income, I budget carefully for our day-to-day needs, routine vet visits, and food. However, a major, unexpected specialty surgery like this is far beyond what my fixed income can stretch to cover. I simply do not have the financial resources to pay for her surgery on my own, no matter how much I want to.
She gave me two wonderful years of unconditional devotion, and now that she needs me most, I am doing everything in my power to get her the care she urgently needs.
