About this campaign
Speedy’s story began at just 11 weeks old when a Good Samaritan found him badly injured on the side of the road and brought him to the animal hospital where I work. He had three broken bones and a long road of recovery ahead of him. A few days later, his owner was located but surrendered him. I brought him home, and Speedy became family. ❤️
At only 5 months old, Speedy had to have his right hind leg amputated because of his injuries. Now, at 9 months old, he’s faced another setback. His remaining hind leg is no longer functioning right, and after a surgical consultation, we learned that Speedy needs a total hip replacement. The doctors at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center believe he will make a full recovery and run again!
Speedy has had such a rough life staring at just 11 weeks of age that he truly has never had the chance to just be a puppy. He tries his best to run and play but just can’t. He deserves the chance to experience life like a normal dog.
My husband is retired military trying to get a college degree and I’m a vet assistant. We are doing our best to save money but it is a $12,000 procedure that we don’t have much time to save for.
