About this campaign
Meet Stanley a former stray cat. He is roughly 11 years old, and 6 weeks ago, he used the last of his energy to walk up to our door and ask for help. He looked awful, smelled terrible, and was in so much pain from a massive mouth infection that he could barely eat.
We immediately took him in, gave him a safe room to decompress, and brought him to the vet.
He was suffering from a severe mouth infection he had difficulty eating, couldn't groom himself, was underweight and unneutered. His vet at Rhode Island Community Pet Project also found a growth under his tongue. He's had 3 appointments where he's received antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds. He needs surgery that will include dental extractions, growth removal/biopsy and a neuter.
There is just something so precious about Stanley. A sweet soul behind those eyes that wants to trust again. He has stolen our hearts and has found his forever home to spend his golden years and we want him to do so pain free. He will have all the time he needs to learn to trust people again. He is home.
I am disabled, my funds are limited. The surgery is 9/09/2026 at RI Community Pet Project. The itemized estimate is $1,200–$1,400. Every dollar raised goes directly to RICPP to pay for Stanley's surgery. Please help give this gentle old soul the pain-free life he deserves!

UPDATE: Stanley had his follow up appointment this past Tuesday, September 15, he has responded well to his medications and his pneumonia is almost cleared up. We are going to continue treatment with antibiotics for his oral infection until his surgery. Before we can move forward with his surgery he is going to need an echocardiogram to clear his heart as it appeared enlarged in the x-ray last week. That appointment is booked for October 27 at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists. In the meantime, he is going to continue taking a diuretic two times a day and plavix to prevent blood clots. He's had a long journey and he still has a bumpy road ahead but he now has a home and a family to care for him. He has really come out of his shell and is a complete lovebug. We will get him through this so he can live out the rest of his life comfortable and loved.
This detour to surgery gives us more time to raise the funds. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. It is greatly appreciated. Please continue to share.

Urgent Update on Stanley's Journey. Our brave boy Stanley's surgery, originally scheduled for today, has been temporarily postponed. On Monday, he came down with a fever, and a vet visit yesterday revealed he is fighting pneumonia and an enlarged heart.
He is currently responding very well to his medications, and we will reschedule his surgery just as soon as he is healthy enough.
While this setback is heartbreaking, it gives us vital extra time to reach our goal. We are currently only at 17% of our fundraising target, and we still desperately need to cover the remaining costs of his upcoming procedure. Thank you so much for your continued love, prayers, and support as Stanley heals!
To everyone that has donated so far, thank you for being part of Stanley's village. We will keep you updated every step of the way as he gets strong enough for his rescheduled procedure! Please keep sharing.

Stanley has adjusted quite well to indoor life. He is slowly learning to trust and has allowed a little petting.
The antibiotics help him feel better but he desperately needs this surgery on September 9th. Please donate and share. Every single dollar counts. Thank you for helping Stanley.
