About this campaign

Sunny was limping and struggling to use one of his legs, so our team here at Adopt and Save a Life Rescue Mission took him to the veterinarian to find out what was wrong. We were heartbroken to learn that he has osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer.

There is, however, some encouraging news. Sunny’s testing has not shown any evidence that the cancer has spread. His veterinarian has recommended amputating the affected leg, giving Sunny the opportunity to remove the cancerous bone and hopefully live a more comfortable life.

And Sunny is showing us that he still has plenty of fight left in him.

He is eating, interacting with us, and enjoying the people around him. He wants to keep going, and we believe he deserves the opportunity to fight this cancer and have more time to simply be Sunny—without the pain caused by his injured leg.

Adopt and Save a Life Rescue Mission is asking for help covering the cost of Sunny’s veterinary care and amputation. We already care for many rescued animals, and taking on another major medical expense is extremely difficult for our small rescue.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help bring Sunny closer to the surgery he needs and give him a chance at a more comfortable future.

Please help us give Sunny the chance to keep fighting. ❤️
