Syntax's Road to Recovery

Syntax is only five years old, but she is facing a serious medical condition that may require surgery.

When this sweet girl was brought into the care of Baw Baw Animal Welfare, she had a dangerously high fever and a large mass on her lower abdomen. Her veterinary team believes the mass may be a mammary tumor, and they are also concerned that Syntax is battling an infection affecting her body.

Right now, the priority is getting her stable.

Syntax has been placed on IV fluids, antibiotics, pain relief, and other supportive medications to help control the infection and give her body the strength it needs. Her veterinarians are also performing blood tests and additional diagnostics to better understand her overall condition and determine whether she can safely undergo surgery.

If her results allow, the next step will be surgery to address the large mass.

Syntax’s treatment is only beginning. Between diagnostic testing, medications, supportive care, and the possibility of an upcoming operation, she needs continued veterinary attention. And Baw Baw Animal Welfare needs help providing it.
