About this campaign

Tangelo is my sweet 1-year-old orange and white tabby. I adopted him almost a year ago along with another kitten from a different litter, and they’ve grown up together. He’s laid-back, affectionate and a little playful. He loves cuddles, relaxing with his furry siblings and, most of all, chicken snacks.

Tangelo has life-threatening severe anemia, with a PCV of only 8% and hemoglobin of 2.6. He also tested positive for FeLV. He is on prednisolone and two antibiotics, but because his red blood cells are dangerously low, a blood transfusion is recommended. An emergency hospital estimated his care at about $3,000.

Tangelo is such a gentle, loving part of our little family. He has another young cat to grow up with and his dog brother, Bailey, waiting for him. Even while extremely weak, he’s still alert, getting up, eating tiny amounts and trying. He’s only one year old, and I want to give my sweet boy every reasonable chance to keep fighting.

I work full-time and can provide Tangelo’s normal care, but this sudden $3,000 emergency is more than I can manage at once. I’ve already paid for his exam, bloodwork and medications and am contributing everything I reasonably can. I’m contacting every resource available because I’m determined to find a way to get Tangelo the treatment he needs.
