About this campaign

Tater came into our family through North Shore Animal League in August 2023 and quickly became part of everything we do. He is a sweet, goofy, affectionate dog who loves being with our family and our other dog. He has brought us constant happiness, and seeing him struggle to walk and play has been heartbreaking

Tater has a right hind-leg cruciate injury causing significant instability, pain and lameness. X-rays also show severe bilateral hip dysplasia and arthritis, making stability in his knee especially important. Assisi Veterinary Hospital is coordinating surgical review and orthopedic repair, likely a TPLO.

Tater is not just a pet to us; he is part of our family. He is loving, playful and happiest when he can be beside us and our other dog. At only three years old, he should have years of running, playing and enjoying life ahead of him. We want to give him the best chance to be comfortable and active again

Our family has had a major financial setback this year. I have been out of work since March because of certified 9/11-related illnesses and injuries, and my wife also lost about two months of work over the summer. We are two mortgage payments behind, have no savings, our credit cards are maxed out, and CareCredit prequalification was declined.
