About this campaign

Theodore was finally safe. Then, one night, his foster watched helplessly as this tiny kitten struggled to breathe.

Only a couple of months ago, Theodore was a helpless, one month old kitten living in a parking lot. Far too young to be facing the dangers of life outdoors, he was rescued by Camy's Catland and welcomed into a foster home where he could finally experience the warmth, safety, and love every kitten deserves.

For a little while, Theodore's difficult beginning seemed to be behind him.

Then he started coughing.

At first, it was coughing, sneezing, and shaking his head. His rescuers suspected an upper respiratory infection and immediately began treatment, hoping they had caught it early.

But within days, something was terribly wrong.

Theodore's foster noticed that he had become unusually quiet and weak. His energy was disappearing, and then came the most frightening sign of all.

Theodore was breathing through his mouth because he was struggling to get enough air.

For a kitten so young and small, this was an emergency. His rescuers rushed him to the ER, terrified by how quickly he had deteriorated.

He was started on antibiotics, but the following morning, he needed even more veterinary care. X-rays and additional testing revealed the heartbreaking reason behind his breathing difficulties.

Theodore had pneumonia.

Instead of being home playing and enjoying his kittenhood, this sweet little boy spent the next three days hospitalized, receiving treatment while his rescuers anxiously waited for him to improve.

Theodore has already overcome so much in his short life. He survived being abandoned to the dangers of a parking lot as a tiny baby, only to face another frightening battle after finally finding safety.

And his fight isn't over yet.

His recovery is still ongoing, and he may need additional hospital stays, medications, and veterinary monitoring as his little body works to heal.

His initial emergency visit alone cost $400, with X-rays, testing, three days of hospitalization, and continued treatment adding to the mounting expenses.

Theodore should be spending his days chasing toys, exploring his foster home, and growing into the happy, healthy cat he deserves to become. Instead, he's been fighting an illness that has made something as simple as breathing a struggle.

Please consider donating or sharing Theodore's story to help his rescuers cover his emergency care, hospitalization, and continued treatment.

This sweet little boy has his whole life ahead of him. We want nothing more than to see him healthy enough to enjoy it.
