About this campaign

Wriothesley was found abandoned in a trash can with her siblings outside my house at around 3-4 weeks old. Compared to her siblings she was severely underdeveloped only weighing around 100g compared to her siblings who weighed double and close to triple that. She was frail, thin, and cold. I honestly didn’t think she was going to survive to this day but she’s strong and determined to live!

At the first vet I took her to, they immediately wanted to put her down, and I disagreed and sought out a second opinion. I took her to Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists - Neurology department and there we had a consultation . She now has three official diagnoses : meningoencephalocele, hydrocephalus, and cranial cervical syringohydromyelia.

She needs neurosurgery and a VP shunt.

When I found her, I honestly thought she wouldn’t make it through the night. I kept her clean, warm, and isolated from the other kittens. I syringe fed her for the first five weeks of her life with me, every 2 hours the first week and half and then every 3 hours and eventually every 4 hours. That time together forged a a very special bond between us.

Neurosurgery estimates are nearing 15k. To date I’ve already spend around 6k just to keep her alive and get her to this point of being strong enough for surgical intervention. I’m afraid that without some help, I won’t be able to continue giving her the best chance at life.
