Help Senior Yvette Get the Care She Deserves

Here in Texas, temperatures have been climbing above 100 degrees for weeks, with very little relief even at night. For stray cats living on the streets, the heat can be unbearable.

Last night, one senior cat, who we named Yvette, made her way to us, and we knew we couldn't turn her away.

Yvette is a senior girl who is sweet, exhausted, and clearly in need of help. She is not spayed, and she arrived sick and worn down after surviving on the streets. While we work to piece together her story and actively search for anyone who may be looking for her, we knew she needed help immediately.

Yvette is now at our veterinarian receiving much-needed medical attention and a safe place to rest and recover.

So far, Yvette has received subcutaneous fluids, full-panel bloodwork, a fecal test, an antibiotic injection, and steroids. She is currently taking another antibiotic to help treat her illness and the respiratory symptoms she is experiencing. If the antibiotics don't resolve her congestion and nasal discharge, she may need additional PCR testing to determine what is causing her symptoms.

Yvette also has stomatitis, a painful inflammation of the mouth. Once she is stable and has gained some weight, she will need a dental procedure to address this condition.

Her veterinary estimate is already $700, and her medical needs are likely to continue as we work to get this sweet senior girl healthy.
