About this campaign
Hercules found me in June of 2014 when he was small enough to fit into the palm of my hand, and since then he has never left my side. I don't think I've gone longer than a week away from him. He lives with me in my home in Irondequoit, NY.
In November 2024, Hercules suddenly lost much of his energy and his stomach was noticeably swollen and hard. After visits to Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center and again to Pittsford Animal Hospital, it has been determined he has a large tumor on his spleen. This tumor was likely growing for a while, but has recently started to bleed into his abdomen, a certainly life-threatening condition.
It's not an exaggeration to say that Hercules is my best friend. He has been my biggest supporter through so much in my life - breakups, quarantines, moving out on my own and so much more. So many people have fallen in love with Hercules' unique personality (even though he likes to show you his toys but never share).
Emergency surgery is among the most expensive things a pet owner can experience. Some estimates I've received have approached $10,000. As a recent first-time homebuyer, my financial situation has been tenuous at best, making this virtually impossible to fund myself.
