About this campaign

Hercules was born at a high kill shelter in Texas. He came to Oregon with Street Savvy Dog Rescue along with his siblings and mother. We adopted his mother and him and one of his sisters is with my sister.

Hercules got sick last night and we rushed him to the vet. Within 2 hours he was having emergency surgery for a ruptured spleen. This is known as the “silent killer of dogs” and from start of symptoms to death takes as little as an hour. There are no pre-signs it is happening until internal hemorrhage starts. the doctor said there was a large blood clot that probably saved his life.

Hercules is an amazing, kind and funny dog.He is gentle, a good listener and is in charge of squirrel chasing and hole digging. He is an important part of our family, especially for our 9 year old foster son.

This was a completely unexpected expense and I need help with a portion of it. It was $3500 out of pocket. They allowed me to put down a deposit of 2000 and make payments on the remainder.
