About this campaign

Tiny Hester has a massive-sized tumor on the top of her head!

No one knows how long the mass grew, but when One By One Animal Advocates saved Hester from the shelter, a volunteer said, "Um, wait a minute, we have a problem!"

They rushed Hester to Proctorville Animal Hospital. An X-ray showed how gigantic the tumor was. It's like she has a brain on top of her brain. "We were shocked," Heather A., from One by One, tells Waggle. "The mass went down her neck and spine. If she did not have it removed, the veterinarian said it would continue to grow rapidly and become so large that her entire head would be distorted and affect her breathing and ability to eat."

The surgery was complex. When the tumor was finally removed, it left such a large opening that Hester lost a lot of blood, and her blood pressure dropped. But she pulled through! The growth was sent off to pathology, and everyone is hoping for good news.

Hester is recovering and doing very well. One By One is hoping you can find it in your heart and wallet to give to Hester's campaign. The giant tumor came with a hefty bill! The nonprofit group says Hester is worth every penny.

"I'm thankful that people are willing to help a dog they have never met," Heather adds. "I have met her, and she is such a happy, loving, and joyous dog. Without people donating for Hester, she would not have had a chance."
