Hetfield or “Hettie” is a 12 year old Australian Shepherd in Houston , TX, who needs $2,000 for Treatment, Tests, Meds for Resistant Ear Infection.

I was was fortunate at the time to get Hettie from a breeder in New Mexico. I was instantly in love when I saw him up for adoption as the prior person that had reserved him deal had fallen through. It otherwise would take over a year to reserve a blue Merle Australian shepherd. Since I already had one Aussie from the same breeder, she trusted that I would be a good parent to adopt hettie.

Hettie began getting yeast/bacterial ear infection
when he was he was
9 yrs when I took him with me for a travel assignment in California. His ears were red, and would have a yellow to dark brown discharge. He would constantly lick his paw pads and shake his head. I began treatment in 2018. At times it would get better. His ear infection has never went away, and is very costly to treat.

Hettie has been with me by my side for the last 10 years. He was with me through my divorce, and moved with me on adventures in travel nursing in California. He then moved back home with me to Houston, where he would soon be a companion to my miracle baby girl. He watched her intently every night standing guard at her crib making sure she was safe. Him and my girl are best buds now.

His ear becomes inflamed and I see him scratching his ear and then yelping from the pain. He shakes his head and looks at me in sadness. I need to have him treated for chronic ear infection: ear wash, medication, blood work, etc which I can no longer afford. I need help.
