Hiccup is a 12-year-old Min Pin mix in Linden, TX, who needs $836 for diagnostics and treatment for Cushing's disease.

We rescued him when he was 3 months old. Now he just turned 12 on September 13. The foster that had him only had large dogs so he was kind of left by the wayside. From what they said, he was found on the streets a few weeks before they got him. He was fixed and had shots before we got him and we have kept up with them.

He rules this house. We move so he can sit some place. He loves his treats (we call them cookies) and he loves to chase squirrels. He likes everyone and has to be center of attention. He falls asleep while sitting (first time he did this I called rescue people to ask about). He always does it. The animal control people named him Hiccup because the first days with them he had the hiccups.

I live on fixed income and already spent my savings money on getting him diagnosed. My husband left me months ago. I had some money saved from stimulus checks. If I can get through the month of January I can save money to continue care.

In July he changed drastically. He wouldn't eat and was throwing up. I took him to vet and they put him on meds, Denamarin, for his liver. I took him back for testing and they helped a little. I went back for more more testing and the medicine wasn't doing what they hoped, so they did another test for Cushing's and thats what they diagnosed him with at the vet clinic, the Ark Animal Hospital in Atlanta, Texas.

When we first got him we had another dog and they became the best of friends quickly. He loves all his toys, especially his yellow squeaky chicken. He takes it and runs off until you chase him. When he's done, he takes it under the bed. One thing he does that cracks me up is he looks at his butt every time he farts. He's very scared of thunder he crawls up in my face. He's my best friend!!
