Hipster is a 6-year-old Border Collie in Scottsdale, AZ, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Surgery.

Hipster is the happiest rescue pup. He grew up out on reservation land, but ended up under the "ownership" of a terrible man who kept him outside, tied up with chicken wire. He and 9 other dogs were physically abused. Fortunately, law enforcement was advised and Hip was rescued and brought to AAWL. That same day, I brought him home to start his new life! He's been my support through thick & thin.

Hip was fearful at first but has come a long way with making friends with humans. He loves other doggos and lives for his play dates with friends. He lives in sunny Scottsdale, and is the most cuddly pup there is... he LOVES belly rubs, walks, hiking, playing chase, and learning new tricks. Everyone who meets Hippie falls in love with his goofy personality and sweet kisses.

This expense is sudden and totally unexpected, and something I just can't pay for on my own. Hippie is my best friend, has saved me through my own trauma, and I am not ready to lose him. Please help me cover all the ongoing treatment he will need to survive and heal.

Hipster has been struggling with on-and-off stomach sickness, and end of May he stopped eating &became very weak. An x-ray showed bowel obstruction which led to emergency surgery. Hip's poor intestines were severely inflamed and damaged. The surgeon cleaned him out, removed some tissue, and untwisted his tummy. His recovery has been rocky with many complications. So far the cost is over $8,000.

Hip is a perfect mutt mixed with many breeds, and has all the best traits of each one- he's got the energy of an Aussie, the smarts of a collie, the cuddly nature of a lab, the strength and protection of a pittie, and the voice of a beagle. In the morning he wakes up talking and howling about how he is hungry, and when he wants to go on a car ride he asks specifically!
