About this campaign

My husband and I adopted Hobbes and his sister Calvin at just a few weeks old and they have grown up together and welcomed our two children into our lives.

Hobbes is being treated at Laytonsville Veterinary Practice for diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication of diabetes that was diagnosed 3 months ago. Our vet estimates his stay will cost $1300-$2500 for treatment and then it will involve home care that will increase the existing cost of his current insulin treatment.

Hobbes is our sweet boy, he is sensitive and prefers to be cuddled when the room is calm which is hard to get in a house with two toddlers! However, he is patient with the kids and they give him lots of love.

Money is currently very tight right now as we have two young kids and we recently lost our vehicle due to my husband's job change. Things were already tight at the time of diagnosis but we got into a good routine but he suddenly is not doing well at all and I am worried.
