Holly is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Huntington, WV Needing Emergency Surgery !

This sweet micro bully mama to be was surrendered to the shelter because she needs emergency surgery. She is a micro bully who was impregnated by a large dog.

She has been in labor over 36 hours indicating the pups are likely too large to deliver. The puppies are at risk of oxygen deprivation and death; and mom is at risk of uterine rupture and death.

We do not know much about her but so far from what we have gathered Holly is sweet, gentle, and calm and shows a brave, loving spirit even in this crisis.

Holly has been in labor for over 36 hours, and the puppies are likely too large to deliver. They face life-threatening oxygen loss, and she is at critical risk of uterine rupture and death. The shelter does not have the funds for the emergency care she urgently needs.

HOLLY UPDATE 🐾

Holly underwent an emergency C-section and delivered seven puppies. Sadly, after an extended labor, only three were born alive, and one passed shortly after delivery. Holly was a devoted mother—gentle, nurturing, and attentive from the start.

The veterinary staff closely monitored the puppies and quickly stepped in when they needed extra support. The vet even took the remaining two puppies home to tube-feed them, but despite every effort, they both sadly passed away.

Holly made a full recovery from her surgery and has since been adopted into a loving home. 💙
