About this campaign

Honey is a Black Mouth Cur, born May 8, 2019. Adopted from Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers, FL, in June 2021 after a background of abuse. She now lives in a loving home in Cape Coral with me (Adam) and my fiancé Amanda as our cherished family member. She enjoys daily walks, sniffing everything (her breed’s hunting instinct), and playing with other dogs—she cries excitedly to greet them!

Honey was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia (IMT) in October 2025 at Hancock Animal Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Cape Coral, FL, under Dr. Meghan Finley—platelets at 0 but caught early. She’s on Prednisone (tapered to 5mg from 30mg) and Cyclosporine, with bloodwork now monthly. Side effects (thirst, hunger, weight gain, incontinence) have improved; she’s stable and energetic.

Honey is our loyal, funny sweetheart—stubborn on walks but melts our hearts with her gentle nature. She loves sniffing the ground (hunting trait) and gets very excited seeing other dogs, crying to play/sniff them. She’s incredibly bonded to us: cuddles constantly, sleeps curled up nearby, and brings daily joy/laughter to our family of three. Her resilience after a tough start makes her special.

Working full-time at Publix, Amanda and I work hard, but rising vet costs have made Honey’s IMT treatment tough—over $2k so far + monthly bills. We only ask because it’s needed. Her health means more joy and peace for us—your help would mean the world.
