My name is Felicia, I’m 47 years old and I’ve never owned a pet. As a child I was fearful of dogs but as I became an adult I grew out of it but never thought I would own a dog. My husband and I finally had the opportunity to have a pet, my cousin brought Honey to our home and it was love at first sight. We’ve had her for about 2 months and she has brought so much joy and love to our home. On Christmas Day I was at my mother’s home for Christmas and Honey and my mother’s dog was in the backyard as they always do but somehow she got through a small opening in the fence and got close to the road and injured her right hind leg. I am so heart broken. We took her to the vet and she will need surgery. We just got pet insurance this week but we’re not sure if it will cover the surgery which is over $6,000. My husband is a disabled veteran and I work as a substitute teacher while taking college courses. We would appreciate any help so we can get our baby’s surgery.
