HoneyBear is a 12-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Wichita, KS, who needs $1,500 for CCL Surgery.

HoneyBear is approximately 12 years old. She is in good health other than her leg issue and she has lived with me %100 of the time for the past 11 years. I resued her. She lives in the home with myself and Buddy. Buddy is her puppy (he's 7) She has a nice fenced yard and lots of toys. She will throw the toy up in the air and catch it herself if no one throws it for her...but I usually do!

She has two housemates–myself and another dog, called Buddy. (7 years old) She tolerates Buddy most of the time...she will growl at him when he tries to lick her teeth! She growls whe whole time he's doing it --but she still just sits there...so it's not much of a protest! (haha) HoneyBear is friendly and enjoys jumping and playing...her and Buddy wrestle contantly. usually :(

HoneyBear and I have a special Bond that starrted the day I found her. Anyone who knows me, knows that she is the center of my world. I literally have no idea who I am without her. As I keep telling everyone...if she could just live another 30 years I'm positive I could teach her to talk! She's so smart it's scary!

HoneyBear needs Cruciate surgery to restore her use of her leg. She will occasionally use the leg but it causes her pain, so she lifts the leg and carries it 90% of the time. I asked HoneyBears Doctor if he thought she was too old for surgery…he told me “age is just a number” and I agree.

HoneyBears need for surgery came as a surprise to me. The CCL diagnosis is an expensive surgery. I'm using all of my savings, and asking friends and family for donations.
