About this campaign

As each moment passes, Hope fills our hearts.

7-month-old Hope was admitted to the hospital - screaming, unbalanced and suffering from neurological episodes. She was going to be euthanized due to her medical and neurological concerns until a compassionate soul stepped in to help Hope find her way to us at Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge.

Her medical team had to work hard to stabilize her due to some concerning blood work results and the need for a life-saving plasma transfusion. Even when stabilized, she was regurgitating food that couldn't be kept down, so her vet put in a NG tube.

As they worked diligently to manage her situation, Hope maintained her unwavering optimism and resilience - even if it seemed like hope itself had deserted her.

Through further diagnostics, Hope has been diagnosed with a liver shunt, a congenital condition in which veins that should carry blood to the liver bypass the liver through an abnormal vessel.
We suspect Hope will need shunt surgery, an intricate, specialized surgery to correct and close the shunt. For now, she will need to rest and regain strength while on medication and a special diet.

Hope is just a tiny puppy suffering with no chance of recovery if not for you, our incredible rescue community of supporters.

Please keep her in your hearts and consider donating to her continued care as she navigates the next few weeks. We will keep you posted on her progress and surgery. We are lucky to have you!
