About this campaign
Hops and his brother Barley were adopted after the passing of Frankie, a pug-yorkie mix. Hops is the competitive one of the 2, and loves to fetch ball.
At some point, the squeaker came out of his Chuck-it ball, Hops thought it looked delicious so he swallowed it. Last week, he began vomiting and lost his appetite. We took him to our regular vet who took x rays, but didn’t see a blockage. The next day he continue to decline so we ended up at the ER vet. After more x rays and an ultrasound were inconclusive, exploratory surgery was recommend.
Hops and Barley are a bonded pair, either lounging together sunbathing or cuddled inside napping under a blanket. Hops is our little protector, running along the fence barking at all who pass by. He likes to think he’s in charge. His favorite thing to do is give kisses, especially after eating his way of giving thanks.
We didn’t hesitate to agree to surgery, knowing that was the best option. At 2:45 am last Thursday, the vet called and sent pictures of what was found in Hops duodenum, the squeaker! He spent 2 days at the ER vet before being released home.
