About this campaign
When Friends for Life Animal Rescue first met Horse, a massive Great Pyrenees mix, he was wandering around a resort, alone and suffering. Vacationers, who had been there for a few weeks, had seen him limping, thin, and in pain. The vacationers searched for his owner and soon heard that his original family supposedly knew he was loose—but didn’t want him back.
Heartbroken, Friends for Life took Horse in and quickly realized the extent of his suffering. He had a large growth on his front left leg and a painful, open cyst on his hip. The cyst was treated, and X-rays showed no fractures, but their vet feared bone cancer or Valley Fever, which is a fungal infection common in the area. While he was started on antibiotics, his condition worsened.
His front left leg became swollen and excruciatingly painful, leaving only one choice—amputation. It was a tough decision, but they knew it was his best chance at a pain-free life. After surgery, with time, love, and care, Horse has made a remarkable recovery. He regained his appetite, allowing him to put on some weight, his spirits are lifted, and he's an overall gentle giant that gets along with humans and dogs of any size.
However, the vet bills to bring Horse back to health have quickly stacked up for Friends for Life Animal rescue, accumulating to over $2,000. And now with only three legs, the journey isn't quite over as they would like to get a wheelchair to even out his weight and help him walk better.
Every donation, will go towards paying Horse's vet bill and helping him stay strong and comfortable. Friends for Life Animal Rescue is appreciative of every dollar you generously donate. Thank you for your continued support!
