About this campaign

I learned about Hudson after I lost my prior Lab after 13 yrs. Hudson was actually supposed to go to a different family but at the last minute I learned the family had to pass and he was all mine. Hudson is 7 and named after the Hudson Valley back in New York where I was raised. Hudson's brother is a 17 month old Great Pyrenees named Bronx....we just say we're in a NY state of mind in our house!

Hudson is the most in your arms snuggly dog I've owned - he absolutely loves sleeping cradled in your arms but if we can't find him in our bed, he's always snuggled with his brother, our 17 month old Pyrenees. He lives for food and walks but is pretty ecstatic for a good tennis ball and stuffed animal.

It's been financially difficult lately due to a salary reduction, our Pyrenees needing an emergency stomach surgery, unexpected medical costs for our son and expensive diagnostic costs for Hudson. We've never had to turn down treatment for our dogs due to financial reasons.

Hudson has been extremely healthy until suddenly he wasn't - he's been diagnosed with Lymphoma. The emergency veterinarian and Oncologist suggested Hudson would do very well if we're able to provide chemotherapy. 80-90% percent of dogs respond well and 10% go into remission and the cancer doesn't return. Our regular veterinarian, Petmenders is able to provide the 26 week CHOP chemotherapy protocol.

Hudson is sweet, gentle and full of life. He's been the constant calm throughout so many life events from moving into our home, losing our beloved 13 year old Pyrenees and the birth of our son - and he's definitely my son's dog. But his signature move and what I love the most, is how vocal he is when he's excited and when we return home, it's like he's singing to us.
