About this campaign
He should have been safe at home with the people who loved him. Instead, this tiny kitten fell from a seventh-floor balcony and was left bleeding and severely injured. A neighbor found him lying helplessly on his side inside a cardboard box. His family had been told what happened, but when they saw the extent of his injuries, they refused to take him for medical care.
Thankfully, the neighbor reached out to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society. They didn't hesitate. At 6 AM, a driver was sent to rescue him, and he was rushed straight to an emergency veterinary hospital.
X-rays and examinations revealed devastating injuries. His eye had been completely displaced from its socket, and he had suffered serious chest trauma that caused air to leak from his lung and accumulate around his heart and lungs. One of his liver enzymes was also dangerously elevated, likely from the severe trauma and bleeding. He needed emergency surgery immediately.
During the first surgery, veterinarians carefully repositioned his eye and temporarily closed his eyelids, hoping the eye could survive because it was still receiving blood supply. They also drained some of the trapped air from his chest. Sadly, when the vets reopened his eye several days later, they discovered that the damage was too severe. There was no hope of saving it, and he had to undergo another surgery to have the eye removed. During that procedure, he was also neutered.
But this little survivor isn't out of danger yet. Because of the force of his fall, he suffered significant trauma to his chest and lungs. He still has air around his lungs and needs to remain hospitalized under close veterinary supervision while he receives the care and monitoring he needs.
And through it all, this kitten has endured something no animal should ever experience: being abandoned when he was most vulnerable.
He was terrified, injured, and alone—and the people he trusted chose not to help him. But his story doesn't have to end there.
Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society refused to leave him behind. Now, they are fighting to give him the chance his family wouldn't.
