About this campaign
Hunter has been with me since he was 10 weeks old as a rescue. My whole adult life- he just reached his 13th birthday as I prepare for my 31st. Literally just 3 days ago he was meeting other dogs and their owners- who said they were amazed he was 13! My vet has only called for a “quality of life” check and I need another opinion to help him manage severe reaction to occasional pain meds.
River Road Veterinary Center has been managing him. Unfortunately, they recommend a “quality of life check” and won’t answer my questions about how to manage the side effects to his pain meds they prescribed for occasional use. I need a second opinion at Bolton Veterinary Center! I think he has so much more life in him- but if he goes, I need to save my money to humanely euthanize at home with me.
I always say he should’ve been a therapy dog. To this day, he meets others and brings a spark to them, especially children as he passes by. I really want him to see my family one more time before his time. He loves their smell every time they send packages- he grew up with them! Hunter is so light-spirited and I want to see the light in his eyes for as long as he feels well.
I work for a nonprofit and I can only support medical needs so far. I managed to improve his heart disease- something they haven’t seen often, if ever! I give all my extra to my baby. Our family is doing all we can and just want to plan his last year.
