About this campaign
Hunter is a 15-year-old terrier mix who came into the animal control shelter with a body that had clearly weathered many years, but with a spirit that refused to dim. When he arrived, he could barely walk due to severe arthritis, and his heart had been damaged by long-term, untreated heartworms. He has since completed treatment and is now hospice fostered
He is being treated with medications from Bay City Vet Clinic to help ease his arthritis and damage to his heart from heartworms. He can now move around and enjoy gentle walks and cuddles. His medications help keep him comfortable. We are committed to giving him as much time, dignity, and joy as he has left — safe, warm, and surrounded by kindness.
Despite everything he’s been through, Hunter is the perfect old gentleman. He melts hearts wherever he goes — polite, slow, and steady, with a soft little tail wag that says thank you for loving me. He still enjoys car rides and insists on bringing his favorite stuffed turtle along for every adventure, like a child traveling with his comfort toy.
We are committed to giving Hunter what every senior dog deserves: warmth, love, respect, and dignity until the very end. With your help, we can keep him comfortable for whatever time he has left. Any support toward his ongoing medical costs helps.
