Hussey is a 15-year-old Turkish Van in Tacoma , WA, who needs $1,400 for Hyperthyroidism.

I took in Hussey as a stray kitten/juvenile cat many years ago. She has been with me from relocating from WA to IL to IA, and back to WA. She is now 15 years old and was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The vet gave me 2 options. 1) medicine or 2) radiation treatment. I've been giving her prescription medication twice a day since April. I think that it's in her best interest to have rad treatment

Hussey is a goofy, stubborn, sometimes playful bully to her 18 year old "brother" Buster. She loves rubs and will tell you when she wants some. And, if the rubs are good, she'll pull your hand in for more loves. Oh, and she is quite the talker! I love having conversations with her. My sister who is allergic to cats, gives more attention to Hussey than me lol. She's a member of my entire family.

Due to Covid, I lost my job at college as they downsized. I was unemployed for 10 months. I finally started working again in February but took a considerable pay cut. I'm still trying to get caught up from lost wages.

Recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the age of 15. She dropped from about 19lbs to 12lbs. She's being seen by Dr. Shut at Soundview Vet Hospital. Dr. Shui recommended medicine which she is currently taking, or radiation treatment. Hussey also needs to have labs done about every 6 weeks at the rate of $235. At this point, financially and for Hussey's sake, I think that radiation treatment best

I've been through some rough times over the last few years including the passing of my dad last year due to pancreatic cancer as well as the passing of my best friend of 25 plus years. In addition, I've had my own health issues including 3 surgeries within 4 years and an anticipated surgery within the next year on my knee, again. Her sassy, talkative self is hilarious and keeps my spirits up!
