Hyde is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix in Niles, MI, who needs $100 for an examination and treatment.

We recieved Hyde in Dec of 2018. We were actually looking for a husky puppy when we received a message from our aunt. She new of a dog who's owners moved and they couldn't take their dog and he needed a home. The neighbors took the dog in trying to find a home before calling an animal shelter. We immediately said yes!! Within a week he was right at home. He was the missing piece of our puzzle.

Hyde is a very energetic fur baby. He absolutely loves the outdoors, no matter the weather!!! We actually let him roam unleashed on our 3/4 acre where he just wants to play fetch! He's so lovable. We are pretty sure he acts like another human more than a dog. He would rather find his seat on a furniture piece than the ground. (Which, of course, we let him.)

Due to Covid-19 we are all at home. I am a waitress and so far have been unable to receive unemployment. We have 2 children at home who see their fur brother hurt and are upset we cannot do more. I am worried for them all. We need him in our lives. He's one of us now.

At 2:40ish in the morning he saw a rabbit outside of our bay window and pounced it. This broke our double pane thin window. He sliced his nose and gashed his paw. We keep cleaning it and bandaging it, but when pressured bleeds thru. Lakeland Animal Clinic offered to help but we cannot afford the emergency care. I am more concerned of glass pieces in it and he is limping pretty bad.

Hyde is such a child!! When he wants attention he gives a death breath, just a big sigh kind of sound. Or he will look at you and if you ignore him he'll do a quick collapse to the ground so you have to notice him. He loves to snuggle on the couch, and called to bed when its bedtime for his spot on the bed. He loves to walk and take road trips.
