Iggy is a 9-year-old Mini Pinscher mix in Bakersfield , CA, who needs $2,000 for Pancreatitis, enlarged liver.

Iggy was adopted from the shelter. He came into my life because I was looking for a companion for his sister Sydney a terrier who was having a very difficult time adjusting when being left alone while I went to work each day. Iggy has been a part of my family for 9 years. His sister was adopted from the same shelter 2 years earlier. He has been a loving addition to our family for 9 years.

Iggy is a very quite, thoughtful and calm little soul unlike his rambunctious and lively Manchester Terrie mix sister, Sydney. His bark is even calming if you can picture that. He loves walks in the morning and a quiet uneventful day. His most favorite pastime is watching animal planet and watching his sister react to animals on TV as if to say to her, “relax silly they’re on TV not in the house!”

I am retired and on a fixed income. Iggy has been hospitalized twice and will continue to need specialized care for the rest of his life. I am constantly budgeting for his ongoing care. Any help to keep Iggy healthy and happy is heart felt and greatly appreciated.

December 2020, Iggy was diagnosed with pancreatitis and this year an enlarged liver. He has been hospitalized 2x, needs prescription food, medication support and ongoing medical care. I am a cancer survivor myself and although my fur babies are not trained companion dogs, they give me more love and comfort than I can describe. Iggy and Sydney are life support for me if you will.

When Iggy makes eye contact it’s as if he wants to speak to you or tell you a story. He’s actually waiting for words he does understand like, treats, walk, outside, and nighty night. Well, not so much nighty night. While his sister runs away when she hears bath time, Iggy excitedly jumps into the tub and patiently waits for his massage from mommy—bottom teeth protruding with a smile!
