About this campaign

Hello, Ika is an incredible 3-year-old short-hair domestic polydactyl cat (he has extra toes). We adopted him when he was a kitten, and he has been the best cat anyone could ever want. He is super lovable, social, and had become best friends with our dog who recently passed away from cancer. I am a full time teacher at a non-profit school and single mom of 3 boys.

Ika had no prior medical history till January this year when they discovered he has a congenital heart defect. He had a relapse a week ago and we’re still trying to figure out how to get him stable. He has no other medical complications. We have paid over $7000 since January thus far are tapped out financially. He is being seen by VCA West Coast in Fountain Valley, CA.

Ika has been an incredible cat since the day we got him as a kitten. He is a unique polydactyl with 26 toes (2 shy of the world record). He has a super friendly docile demeanor and gets along with people, other cats, and dogs extremely well. He has never been aggressive, lets you give him a bath with ease, and even willingly takes his pills that have been prescribed by his vet. The best cat.

We just lost our dog to cancer and have those expenses plus his $7000 that we’ve already put out since January to keep him alive. As a single mom of 3 kids, I’ll try to do anything to keep Ika on this earth, and don’t want money to be the obstacle. He’s too young to die.
