Indigo is a 2-year-old Lab Mix in Rutledge, TN, who needs $2,000 for ACL Repair.

Indigo came to our family when our other dog found him. Someone had "dumped" him on our farm and didn't look back. Indie was in pretty bad shape when we found him. He was covered in fleas, extremely bloated due to worms, gums were pale, and had sores on his skin. A friend of ours is a vet tech and took an immediate look at him and did not believe he would make it through the night.

Indie was part of the family from the start. My husband was deployed and only saw him from photos to begin with. His beautiful blue eyes reached into our hearts with each look he gave us. Indie became very protective of everyone in the family. The day he met my husband for the first time it was like they had known each other all the time. If we are outside, he has to be with us, protecting us.

Indie has one brother and two sisters in the home. The four of them outside is amazing to watch. Indie will lay down and let the other three wrestle and beat up on him, all while pretending to wrestle back. He is really ticklish on his paws and when you get him, he will turn and give you this look that tells you that he knew you were the one who did it, all while you are trying not to laugh.

Indie was malnurished prior to us and his joints did not develop properly. His knee joints do not have enough of a grove them in place. He has now injured it 3 times and this time he has torn his ACL in his right hind leg. Moyers Vet hospital said he would have to be referred to an orthopedic surgeon to fix it. He already has muscle atrophy in the right leg and will damage his left if not fixed.

Indie is only 2 years old and doesn't deserve this. This is an unexpected bill that we had not planned for and did not have an emergency fund set up. We just want to see him live the best life possible after being treated like trash the first 6-8 weeks of his life.
