About this campaign

Inkjet’s life has never been easy. The only survivor of his litter, he was rescued in critical condition, a tiny fighter who refused to give up. He is completely deaf, struggles with painful mouth ulcers and chronic infections, and remains small for his age. Through the love and dedicated care of Rescue Kitties of Hawaii, he has overcome so much. But now, he faces his biggest battle yet.

He has a heart murmur that is worsening, and he has started coughing—a terrifying sign that something is very wrong. The possibilities are grim: congestive heart failure, asthma, or a severe lung infection. Any of these could be life-threatening without immediate intervention. He needs an an echocardiogram and chest X-ray to diagnose what’s happening inside his little body. Without these tests, there is no way to know what’s causing his symptoms or how to save him.

Inkjet is currently on the island of Molokai- a very small Hawaiian island that does not have any vets, animal control for cats, or humane euthanasia options. This is why Inkjet must fly to his amazing doctors in Oahu, who are ready to help. Without this care, he could become critical and his caretakers would have to watch him suffer with no resources to help.

Please do not let this heartbreaking possibility become reality.

Your donation today will help cover Inkjet’s lifesaving treatment he desperately needs to keep fighting. Inkjet has been a fighter from the very beginning, proving time and time again that he is meant to be here. But now, he needs our help to keep going.

Update 03/31
His recent cardiology exam at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital with an echocardiogram, chest XRays, and full bloodwork labs- confirmed that he has left ventricular hypertrophy, aortic insufficiency, suspected aortic stenosis, and an enlarged left atrium—a combination that puts him at high risk for congestive heart failure. His little heart is struggling, but with atenolol, regular vet visits, and careful monitoring of his heart and breathing rates, we will be doing everything possible to extend his time and give him the best quality of life. Thank you for helping us support Inky's ongoing care!

Update 04/16
Inkjet had another appointment with a cardiologist who was able to do another echocardiogram which provided a bit more insight on his condition. He does have very serious heart disease, but not as severe as we thought and luckily, it was caught very early so his prognosis is hopeful. He is now on a new medicine to help prevent blood clots and a beta blocker that will hopefully give him a longer happier life! Thank you for all the ongoing support!
