Iris is a 8 month old Labrador Husky in Richlands, VA, who needs $700 for Amputation.

Iris is our 8-month-old puppy and a beloved part of our family. She is so full of life and very entertaining. She dug out of our backyard and was shot by a neighbor for being on their driveway. We are desperate for her to get the help that she needs so she can try to have the best quality of life we can give her.

On 2/2/26, Iris sustained a gunshot wound to her left front leg after escaping our fenced yard in a residential neighborhood. She was evaluated at our local vet where she was diagnosed with open fractures of the ulna and radius with exposed bone fragments. She requires urgent orthopedic surgery to try and save her leg or have an amputation.

Iris is special because of her joyful, loving spirit. She is affectionate, playful, and deeply bonded to our family. She loves following us from room to room, greeting everyone with excitement, and curling up close when she’s tired. Iris brings constant energy, comfort, and happiness into our home. She isn't just a dog, she is family and we are doing everything we can to keep her a part of it.

This injury came without warning, and the cost of surgery is overwhelming for our family. Any support helps give Iris a chance to heal and live without pain. Having her healthy again would mean seeing her run, play, and enjoy the life she deserves.
