Ivy Needs Heart Testing Before Lifesaving Surgery,

After her owner passed away, Ivy was surrendered to a shelter and spent more than six weeks living in a cold cement kennel, wondering if anyone would ever come for her. When HIT Living Dog Rescue finally brought her to safety, she arrived with severely overgrown nails and a concerning growth on her front paw. She needed to be looked at before her health got out of hand.

She settled into foster care almost immediately, claiming her favorite spot on the couch and quickly proving herself to be sweet, gentle, and wonderfully adaptable. She loves walks, follows her people around, sleeps peacefully in her crate, and is always eager to learn new tricks. Now, after finally getting her second chance, Ivy needs our help to protect it.

Her veterinary exam revealed several serious concerns: a heart murmur, an enlarged heart, a small nodule in her right lung, two mammary masses, and the mass on her paw. Before surgery can move forward, Ivy needs an ECG and cardiac evaluation to determine whether she is medically cleared for anesthesia.

Her paw and mammary masses need to be removed, with the paw mass biopsied to determine exactly what it is. She will also need a dental procedure and spay, ideally completed during the same surgery if her heart allows.
