Izzy is a 6-year-old mix in Hutto, TX, who needs $1,100 for a Cystotomy to remove bladder stones.

Six years ago we found Izzy at a pet store. She was in a little glass cubby with 4 other puppies. She was not able to run or walk, had a severe ear infection and an umbilical hernia the size of a grapefruit. We later found out she also had a fractured leg. We couldn't turn her away. We took her into our home and provided medical care as well as gave her our heart.

Izzy loves to take walks in the neighborhood, play outside in the backyard with her 10 year old buddy Neko. She loves her bed and blanket when she sleeps. She is very motherly and loving of all us and her buddy Neko. She has her favorite chew toy that she refuses to share with her buddy. She is very obedient and sensitive to her surroundings.

I am out of work and have pressing medical and dental bills, and my husband is working 2 jobs to keep us afloat. The $1500 for Izzy's life saving surgery to keep her bladder from imploding is impossible for us to pay by October 14, the day of her surgery. Izzy is family. We want her out of pain.

Izzy is current on her shots, receives routine vet care and is taken to the dog groomers every 4-6 months. She is well-kept. However, she has very painful bladder stones obstructing her bladder and when she does urinate, it's full of blood. We spent over $400 for antibiotics, pain meds, and vet visits. She is not able to eat and is pacing/panting all day. She requires surgery.

We didn't realize how special Izzy was when we first got her. One night she woke us with non-stop barking and scratching to get out of our bedroom. I opened the door, shocked to see water running down our walls and out of the light fixtures. Our town home was being flooded by the upstairs neighbor. We would have never known if not for Izzy's keen sense that something was wrong.
