About this campaign

This is the story of Jack Frost, a 12-year-old dog who has endured more than anyone should, but is now ready to be loved in his golden years. His tale isn’t one of abandonment — it’s one of survival, of hope, and of second chances. Jack Frost was found wandering the streets of Sugar Land. Alone, confused, and scared, this sweet senior boy had nowhere to turn.

Thankfully, a local shelter reached out for help when they discovered that Jack had a microchip. But the mystery deepened when the chip traced back to a senior living facility with no information about Jack’s family or history. The facility confirmed that they do not allow pets, and no one came forward to claim him. The shelter couldn’t bear to leave him behind, so they contacted ThisIsHouston.

At 12 years old, Jack’s body has been through more than it should have. His bloodwork showed that he is in stage 2 of kidney disease, and he is now on a special diet to help manage his condition. Jack’s body is frail — skin and bones. His coat is a tangled mess, and he is blind in his left eye. His journey toward better health will require ongoing care, dedication, and medical attention.

Jack’s resilience is nothing short of remarkable and it's a miracle he survived on the streets. Let’s make Jack’s story one of hope and healing. Please donate to help Jack get the comfort, love, and care he has always deserved!

Update 2/12/25:
After a couple visits with an ophthalmologist, it was determined that the best course of action was to remove his bad eye. He also had a dental at the same time and surprisingly only needed 2 teeth removed. He is recovering well so far in his loving foster home.
