About this campaign

Jack was adopted from Great Dog Rescue New England on August 25th at 9 months old. He came from a rescue in Tennessee, where his original owner kept him crated most of his life. We adopted him as a companion for Leia, our first dog, who struggles with anxiety. Jack has brought love, comfort, and joy to our lives and truly completes our family.

Within the first week of adopting Jack, we noticed pain and discomfort in his hind legs. At his first check-up on Oct 4th, our vet recommended an orthopedic consult. After sedated X-rays, Jack was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 10 months old. The best treatment option is Total Hip Replacement. Jack was seen at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston for a surgical consult on Dec 10th.

Jack has helped Leia with her anxiety so much that we were able to drive to Vermont to visit their doggie grandparents for the first time without any anti-nausea medication. They can now stay home alone calmly, allowing us to enjoy a dinner date for the first time in a year. Jack and Leia love playing together and get along so well, making them the perfect companions for each other.

We want to give Jack the best chance at a happy, pain-free life, but his $12,000 surgery is an unexpected financial challenge. While it's hard for us to ask for help, we are doing it for Jack's future. Any amount is deeply appreciated and means the world to us and Jack.
