About this campaign
Jackson is my best friend. I got sick about ten years ago and five years ago I had a pulmonary embolism. At that time I found out that I had RA, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Sjogrens. My daughter got Jackson for me as a service dog because I was having trouble with mobility. Jackson saved my life. He lives with my husband and I in our home and is my companion nearly every day.
He's the greatest dog. He's loving, silly, and so incredibly loyal. Our bed is too small for all of us, so Jackson comes to bed with me at night and lays on hubby's side until hubby comes to bed. At that time he gets on the floor. As soon as hubby leaves the room, sometimes just to use the restroom, Jackson jumps up on the bed and cuddles with me.
Jackson is supposed to be my service dog, but he is so afraid of thunder and loud noises that I often find myself comforting him. Lol. Jackson never leaves my side when I am sick or in pain. I took a tumble a week ago, and poor Jackson was beside himself. No one was home so he kept running back & forth to me then off to find help. Now every time I go outside he panics.
Jackson is a bone fanatic. This morning, I woke up to two huge piles of vomited blood on the floor. I'm beside myself. We rushed Jackson to the vet, Apollo Vet, Wimberley, TX. He has an upper GI bleed & some kind of virus.
I am a responsible pet owner. Jackson gets regular care, has pet insurance (for regular care), and is fed a very good diet. I believe you shouldn't own an animal if you aren't prepared to pay for vet care. I do have savings for Jackson, but it's not enough.
