I've had Jackson since he was a puppy. He's been my steadfast companion for nine years - just the two of us. He is my furry child, and my best friend. I would give my life for him, and he wouldn't think twice about doing same for me. He is the center of my world, and I plan my life around him. I bring him absolutely everywhere that I can with me. My home and vehicle are set up for his comfort.

Jackson is strong, resolute and fearless - a true sentinel, and a big furry heart. He loves to chase his squeaker ball, and swim. With his thick fur, he is in his element in the snow. He likes to watch the homestead, and will alert me when a moose meanders through. He loves meeting new friends on our hikes, and brings smiles to the residents at assisted living facilities. He is adored by all ages.

Jackson is otherwise healthy, with years of life left. I cannot afford the surgery required to safe his life and end his suffering. I'm on a fixed income, and drowning in school loan debt. COVID19 has also caused additional financial burdens. He deserves a chance to live. <3

Jackson's perineal hernia has become very large and is now bilateral. It is painful and affects his ability to pass stool. It could rupture any day, or cause strangulation of the bladder or colon. The only option for him to have a quality of life is surgical repair, or he will continue to suffer and it will kill him soon. Dr.N. Jackson loves all creatures, great and small - horses, cows, birds, kitties, etc. He is especially gentle with the tiny and old. He is calm, stable & always 'watching' over his 'pack' - I may think he's sleeping, and he will follow me into the bathroom, or anywhere that I go, always making sure that I am ok. He will wrap his paw around your leg to give a quick hug, and loves to sit on your lap.
