About this campaign
Jacova was a rescue. She was one of 6 girls in a litter and was shy and quiet. She was the only one left and no one wanted because she was skinny and needed love. I fell in love with her. I took her home and she thrived. She was 12 weeks old at the time. She helped me with some very difficult health issues in my life. She was there for me.
Jacova lives with two senior citizens on pension. She protects us and provides emotional support for us. she is a registered support dog and I would be lost without her. as such when the vet there was a chance she could recover I took it. however the expenses have put my mother and I in economic peril.
Jacova loves to jump and play but she is also sweet and quiet. she will cuddle under the blanket with you and be there for you when you are tired or sad. she will lick your face all over and put her body close to you so you can pet her. she is friendly and loves children. she is very intelligent and knows words.
Jacova collapsed one day. I rushed her to the vet and they diagnosed her with IMHA immune anemia. she has had 6 blood transfusions. she has been in western VCA on 10 street ever since. it was agonizing to make a decision to end her life but then she started to come back and I thought I have to give her a chance to live.
we are 2 senior citizens and we have laid everything on the line. we have maxed out credit cards, hoping that we could get our baby back. I have pet insurance but it is not enough and there are cost even when she comes home with medication and blood tests. we are desperate.
