Jade is a 11-year-old Sheppard Mix in Greensboro, NC, who needs $1,950 for Palladia Chemotherapy .

Jade came into my life 11 years ago when on a snowy day I went to the pound and saw this cute little puppy that needed a home. Jade was about 10 weeks old and when I took her in a room she instantly started playing catch with the tennis ball. Jade currently has four other doggie siblings that love and adore her. She has been what has gotten me out of bed on some of my hardest days.

Jade loves playing outside with her other siblings in the fenced in one acre back yard that she loves to run around in. Jade gets to sleep in the bed and that’s what she has done since she was brought home almost 11 years ago. Jade gets really excited when it is time to eat and will jump in circles until you put her food down. She also likes to jump in circles when it is time to go for a ride.

I have been out of work since COVID started and am unable to pay the vet for the chemotherapy it looks like she is going to need. My mom has helped as much as she can but the cost is becoming too much and I’m afraid that might mean putting Jade down. This is heartbreaking.

Jade is being treated at Lawndale Veterinary Hospital by veterinarians, Dr. Jelovich and Dr. McGlothlin. Jade was recently diagnosed with a mast cell tumor under her chin and we have been trying treating it with Prednisone and Benadryl which worked great at first but recently Jade is not improving and only getting worse. Jade is now having trouble walking and getting up without help.

Jade makes me laugh when she starts jumping in circles because that is when you know she is super excited. Recently she has not been able to do that so when she perked up and started wagging her tail for some special treats it made me smile and know she is still in there. She absolutely loves my mom and as soon as I mention going to see her she sits up with excitement.
