Jasmine is a 12 year old Rat Terrier in Grand Island, NE, who needs $1,980 for Exploratory Stomach Surgery.

My sweet Jasmine came into my life 5.5 years ago as a rescue, along with her housemate Sebastian. They had been living for years with a couple, but the wife had recently passed away from cancer. The husband tried to keep them by himself for 9 months after her passing, and then gave them to my brother, who gave them both to me. My daughter took in Sebastian and I kept Jasmine.

Jasmine and I have an active lifestyle together. I try to feed and care for her so she's healthy. Six days ago, she got into a package of Brazil nuts and probably ate a cup of them. That made her vomit a lot of chunks of nuts. I took her to Family Pet Care with Dr. Anderson the next day. He did emergency stomach surgery to remove the sharp nut pieces that were cutting her stomach and not passing.

I have had pet birds for a very long time, and wasn't expecting to take in a dog. But, Jasmine despaerately needed a home, and I have come to depend on her as much as she depends on me. We're just coming out of a very cold winter and we're looking forward to walks and warmer weather for summer activities, like chasing cats, rabbits and squirrels.

Jasmine, the birds and I are living on my Social Security income, which is barely enough to get by. This emergency surgery will bring a huge financial hardship to us. I would very much appreciate any help to get this bill paid. I'm glad I choose life for Jasmine.
