Jasmine is a 6-year-old Pittbull in Mooresville, NC, who needs $1,600 for Mast Cell Cancer Tumor Surgery.

I adopted Jasmine from a neighbor 6 years ago. He wanted a protection dog for his family. Jasmine was much too loveable and calm and he couldn't get her to be aggressive. For over 6 years she has been the most loveable dog I ever imagined possible. Wherever there is a pillow or a blanket, you will find Jasmine.

Jasmine slept with my daughter until she moved out and went to college. She sleeps with me every night. When my children come to visit she gets so excited. Once she sees their car pull up she goes crazy. If I have a bad day she is right by my side with snuggles. She is convinced that she is a 5 pound lapdog because no matter where you are she has to be right there next to you.

Under normal circumstances this wouldn't be an issue. Two weeks ago I had to have major reconstructive back surgery . I have been out of work for 5 weeks and have a long recovery ahead of me. This is something I never thought I would have to face.

I recently had major back surgery so my daughter had to take her for her routine check up. I was devastated when they called me shortly after to tell me that Jasmines test came back positive for Mast Cell cancer and that she needed surgery to have the tumor removed as soon as possible. Once the tumor is removed we will know what stage cancer she has and then determine a treatment plan.

I can tell when it's going to rain because she clings to my side. She will hide in a corner and bark at the thunder. She loves whipped cream. If she hears the can she comes running into the kitchen. She acts all mean and tough when she hears something but then hides behind me .She is truly the best companion ever and makes every day special.
