Jasper is a 17-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Sherwood Park, AB, who needs $700 for Chronic Kidney Disease and Palliative Care.

Jasper came into my household in March 2015, and just had his 17th birthday (Nov 15 2006). Despite what his medical records show, he's still surprisingly lively and loving. His foster (failed) brother, Tigger is around 9ish and was adopted mere months after him DEMANDING it be so. He "chose" me to be his human in similar style.

Jasper is a very sweet and quirky old man. He's always been a picky eater (likely gone through thousands of dollars for his foods...), and has decided his kidney food with probiotics is the ONLY way to eat. He gladly takes medication in a therabites supplement, loves to curl up on his humans, and is the ruling authority of the home.

Despite his previous owners declawing him as a kitten, he's always had this awkward clawing-like behavior on his scratchers. His flat diaphragm gives him this endearing broken meow that you can hear ALL the way across the house. He only likes play on his terms, but is always down for cuddles!

Jasper is in stage 3 kidney disease. He recently added inflammation of the pancreas and a grade 1 heart murmur to his rap sheet. Despite all these issues, he's still holding strong thanks to the caring team at Aspen Trails Vet. He has ongoing need of his treatments and special foods, which gets expensive fast!!

I was constructively dismissed by my secondary job, causing an annulled proposal of my debts. Paired with severe cutback of hours at my primary, and vet bills eating my emergency fund, I'm in a bind. This sweet boy is my world, and a dear companion 💕
