A close friend of mine contacted me to tell me that he had the perfect puppy for me. It happened to be one of my dream dogs, a Giant Schnauzer and this friend new I loved dogs as I've always had them in my life. She was perfect so we took her home and named her Java!

Java became suddenly ill one day as we first noticed her limping. The vet ran xrays and found a mass on her bone. We quickly found a vet to do a biopsy and after a long wait, it was discovered that she had a severe and rare fungal bone infection. She initially responded well to Itraconazole, but this drug affected her kidneys so we need advanced IV treatments to destroy the spreading fungus.

Java is everyone's friend in the neighborhood and anywhere she go. Neighbors speak to Java on our walks and she is always the topic of conversation with friends and neighbors. She has her crew of furry friends which entails more doggy play dates than her owner's social life. She is so curious and loves to play chase. She has a special bond with her human brother that is unbreakable.

The cost of Java's treatment is above our means. The drug Java will need is more than a mortgage payment and we just can't afford to pay out-of-pocket. Her treatment involves outpatient hospital care three times a week for 6 weeks.
